Joint Statement
5th November 2024
Plants for the Future ETP, along with 17 other European Technology Platforms (ETPs) has released a Joint Statement addressing the European Commission, which underscores the crucial role of ETPs as public-private partnerships, advocating for continued support in the upcoming EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (Fp10).
Since their establishment in 2003, ETPs have helped align research and innovation (R&I) priorities across Europe, transforming R&I outputs into practical solutions for industry and society.
The Joint Statement emphasises ETPs’ capacity to mobilise extensive EU-wide networks, providing objective, coherent advice that guides impactful research. Highlighting the recent EU Council’s call for a competitive European industry that drives the green, digital, and resilient future of the EU, the statement calls on the Commission to strengthen ETPs’ advisory roles, fostering the translation of EU research into marketable innovations.
Plant ETP is dedicated to advancing the plant sector’s contributions to food, feed, and biobased materials, working towards sustainable agricultural systems. This statement reflects our commitment to bridging the gap between research and real-world impact, helping boost Europe’s growth, competitiveness, and sustainability.
